LCRA<\/strong> would like to welcome you to the new Louisiana Court Reporters Association website.<\/p>\n

Louisiana court reporters are recognized leaders in their profession because of their determined adherence to the standard set by LCRA<\/strong>(Louisiana Court Reporters Association).<\/p>\n

LCRA<\/strong> is an organization that educates, protects, and promotes the court reporting profession in Louisiana. In addition, LCRA<\/strong> especially encourages its members to portray the ideals set by the NCRA<\/span> (National Court Reporters Association), the official standard bearer in the nation.<\/p>\n

Formerly named Louisiana Shorthand Reporters Association, LCRA<\/strong> is the oldest professional court reporting organization in the State of Louisiana. Association records indicate that 1955 is the founding date of the organization.<\/p>\n

Despite some early years’ lapses of continuity of the organization, LCRA<\/strong> is still looked on as the States’ backbone of the profession, and is the only court reporting association that is the State affiliate of the National Court Reporting Association.<\/p>\n

LCRA<\/strong> EMPLOYS A FULL-TIME LOBBYIST TO PROTECT AND PROMOTE THE INTERESTS OF COURT REPORTERS THROUGHOUT THE STATE.<\/p>\n

Today LCRA<\/strong> has a membership that is the largest in the Louisiana court reporting profession, and it is still growing, still promoting the profession, still protecting the “integrity of the record,” and providing “preservers of the truth.”<\/p>\n
