Position Summary
Orleans Parish Criminal District Court is seeking a qualified Court Reporter to create and maintain the official verbatim record of court proceedings. The Court Reporter is responsible for transcribing spoken or recorded speech into written form using a stenograph machine or voice-writing technology in combination with digital recording systems.
This position prepares, certifies, and distributes official transcripts of court proceedings as directed by the Court and ensures the accuracy, security, and integrity of the official legal record.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create accurate, verbatim records of court proceedings using stenographic or voice-writing methods.
Prepare, edit, certify, and distribute official transcripts as directed by the Court.
Maintain a complete, accurate, and secure record of court proceedings.
File transcripts with appellate courts as required.
Ensure proper operation and use of stenographic or digital recording equipment.
Maintain confidentiality of court proceedings and records.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Certified Court Reporter (CCR) or equivalent certification required.
Demonstrated proficiency in court reporting and transcript preparation.
Knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures.
Ability to produce accurate transcripts within required timeframes.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Official Court Reporter, Nineteenth West Judicial Circuit, Div. 1 – Benton County
Job Type: Full Time
The Official Court Reporter is responsible for the reporting of all judicial proceedings assigned to the judge, regardless of the nature, difficulty, or location for the proceedings conducted within the assigned judicial circuit. This position is responsible for preserving the court record and exhibits and, when requested, preparation of the official transcript of proceedings. As a representative of the Judiciary, the Official Court Reporter must maintain a high degree of integrity, decorum, and respect for court personnel, other agencies, and the public.
Applicants must be a Certified Court Reporter, as required by Arkansas Supreme Court Rule in good standing.
